Interprétation
Conseil pour la composition d’une équipe d’interprètes Organisation de vos réunions et conférences Conseils techniques pour le matériel d’interprétation Collaboration avec le centre de congrès de l’UIC La qualité de l’interprétation est un élément clé pour le succès de votre événement international : réunions, conférences, négociations, ateliers ou conférences de presse. Il importe de le confier à des interprètes expérimentés et fiables. Nous vous conseillons sur les différentes options proposées : Interprétation simultanée Grâce à leurs écouteurs, les participants suivent directement, sans interruption, les interventions et débats. Les interprètes traduisent à partir d’une cabine isolée acoustiquement et se relaient en moyenne toutes les demi-heures. Ils sont au nombre de 2 par langue d’arrivée. Cette technique convient parfaitement pour les congrès, conférences et réunions comptant un nombre élevé de participants et nécessite un équipement spéciale (cabine ou bidules) Interprétation consécutive Les interventions orales sont traduites en différé par segments en présence d’un interprète qui assure par une prise de note adéquate la restitution des discours entre 2 langues. Cette technique convient pour les discours officiels, les négociations ou réunions d’experts et visites techniques (pas de matériel nécessaire). Interprétation en chuchotage Il s’agit d’une interprétation simultanée applicable à des cas très spécifiques. En l’occurrence, l’interprète s’installe près de la personne (2 clients maximum) pour lui chuchoter la traduction et traduire ses propos à haute voix si nécessaire. Les interprètes de L&T sont tous diplômés de l’enseignement supérieur ; disposent d’une expérience solide dans de nombreux secteurs ; ont une compétence reconnue dans le domaine du transport ferroviaire ; assurent vos missions en toute confidentialité ; travaillent à partir de et vers l’anglais, le français et l’allemand. Pour les autres langues, nous faisons appel à notre réseau d’interprètes indépendants qualifié. Interpretation
Advice on how to choose your interpreting team Conference management Advice on technical interpreting equipment Cooperation with the UIC Congress Centre Quality interpreting is vital for the success of any international event, whether a seminar, conference, negotiations, workshop or press conference. This can only be achieved by employing experienced and reliable interpreters. The various options we offer are as follows: Simultaneous interpretation Participants listen to presentations and discussions in real time via headphones. Interpreters work in pairs in sound-proof booths. Interpreters take turns at the microphone, working for around 30-minutes at a time before changing over. Simultaneous interpreting is the ideal solution for congresses, conferences, and other meetings with large numbers of participants, and requires specific equipment (interpreting booth or portable “bidule” system). Consecutive interpretation The interpreter is present in the conference room alongside participants, taking notes and subsequently interpreting what is said in segments, working in both directions between the two languages. Consecutive interpreting is suited to official speeches, negotiations, meetings between experts, and technical visits since it necessitates no special equipment. Whispering This is a form of simultaneous interpreting used only in specific circumstances. The interpreter sits next to the customer (up to two listeners maximum), and interprets proceedings for them in a whisper, translating their contributions out loud for the other participants if necessary. L&T interpreters all have university degrees in language studies; have longstanding experience in various fields; are especially acknowledged in their primary field of expertise: rail transport; ensure absolute confidentiality in all their assignments; have English, French and German as their main working languages. Our Expertise
L&T is the language service of the International Union of Railways (www.uic.org) and provides UIC, its Members (www.uic.org/vademecum/), the railway and transport sector as a whole with specialised high-quality language services. These services are also available to any businesses and organisations seeking professional translation and interpretation. Our working arrangements are based on European standard EN 15038:2006 for translation services, allowing us to offer our clients workable and reliable procedures and a rigorous methodology.
Our languages
We mainly work into English, French and German. For other languages, we may call on our trusted network of professionals working into Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and other languages.

Whenever possible we work with our inhouse team of linguists: 6 interpreters and translators plus our assistant and manager. Several of our team are members of AIIC, the German BDÜ or the French SFT.

Hilfestellung bei der Zusammenstellung des Dolmetschteams Konferenzberatung Technische Unterstützung bei der Auswahl der Dolmetschanlagen Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kongresszentrum der UIC Die Qualität des Dolmetschens ist der Schlüssel für den Erfolg Ihrer internationalen Veranstaltung, seien es Sitzungen, Konferenzen, Verhandlungen, Workshops oder Pressekonferenzen. Daher sollten Sie in jedem Fall nur auf erfahrenene und vertrauenswürdige Dolmetscher zurückgreifen. Wir helfen Ihnen, je nach Situation die geeignetste Lösung zu finden: Simultandolmetschen Über Kopfhörer können die Teilnehmer direkt und ohne Verzögerung die Vorträge und Diskussionen verfolgen. Die Dolmetscher sitzen in einer schalldichten Kabine und wechseln sich im Durchschnitt alle halbe Stunde ab. Pro Zielsprache arbeiten immer zwei Dolmetscher zusammen. Diese Art des Dolmetschens eignet sich besonders für Kongresse, Konferenzen und Sitzungen ab einer gewissen Anzahl von Teilnehmern und bedarf einer speziellen Ausrüstung (Dolmetschkabinen oder Personenführungsanlage). Konsekutivdolmetschen Die mündlichen Beiträge werden zeitversetzt und abschnittweise vom Dolmetscher übersetzt, der durch eine spezielle Notizentechnik die getreue Wiedergabe der Reden in beide Sprachen sicherstellt. Diese Dolmetschtechik wird für offizielle Reden, Verhandlungen sowie Fachsitzungen und technische Besichtigungen empfohlen. Es ist kein besonderes Material notwendig. Flüsterdolmetschen Hierbei handelt es sich um Simultandolmetschen für ganz bestimmte Fälle: Der Dolmetscher befindet sich neben der Person (max. 2 Kunden), um ihr die Übersetzung zuzuflüstern und ggf. die Beiträge derselben für die anderen Teilnehmer laut wiederzugeben. Die Dolmetscher von L&T haben alle ein entsprechendes Universitätsdiplom; verfügen über langjährige Berufserfahrung in diversen Bereichen; sind anerkanntermaßen auf den Bahnsektor spezialisiert; führen Ihre Aufträge mit größter Vertraulichkeit aus; dolmetschen ins Deutsche, Englische und Französische.
